The first phone with Windows Phone Mango

Fujitsu Toshiba presented the first smartphone with Windows Phone Mango. The new device is named IS12T and it is waterproof by standard of protection IPX5. Moreover, the thickness of the phone is only 10.6mm. The model also has Qualcomm MSM8655 processor (probably @ 1GHz), 3.7” display, 13.2 MP camera with auto-focus, 32GB memory, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and Wi-fi. This amazing smartphone is powered by Windows Phone Mango and will be available in several colors – pink, yellow, green and black. Unfortunately it may be available only in Japan.
HTC Eternity – a WP7 device with front-facing camera
Some photos and specs have leaked of the HTC Eternity – rumored to be HTC’s first WP Mango phone. The device has a giant 4.7” WVGA Super LCD screen and an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash, but sadly just a 1.5 GHz single-core processor. Not what you’d call slow, but still not the best one out there. The battery is a standard 1650 mAh, so battery life should be decent. The most interesting feature perhaps is the front-facing suggesting camera, that Skype integration might be just around the corner.

Galaxy S device with Windows Phone is coming?
Samsung Galaxy device powered by Windows Phone 7? The idea seems to be the one from Samsung, the company would have a prototype of the successor of Samsung Focus.
Codenamed “SGH-i917“, the Galaxy would be a Windows Phone thinner than the Galaxy S2 and could have 4.3 inch super AMOLED screen, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1 GB of RAM and 16/32 GB memory for the ‘storage.
Obviously, the features are only hypotheses, but a Windows Phone based Galaxy S2 seems to be coming for sure, maybe this fall with the wave of smartphones with Mango.
Huawei will go with Windows Phone devices
Taiwan based Huawei company was not in the list of new partners that Microsoft announced during the presentation of the update Windows Phone 7 Mango, but it featured ZTE. ZTE and Huawei are major competitors and it seems that Huawei will also not miss the opportunity to join the competition in the market for smartphones with Windows Phone. However, the company will not be hurried to do so, as it plans to offer such devices until next year. However, the inclusion of ZTE means that soon we will see cheaper devices with Windows.

Windows Phone 7 in 7 – Introducing Windows Phone 7
Introducing the user experience, the design philosophy, and some fundamentals of the Windows Phone 7 application platform.
No Skype for Windows Phone 7

Citing a second-rate “user experience” compared to the iPhone and Android, Skype admits it has no immediate plans to release an app for Windows Phone 7.
Skype is working full steam ahead on an app for the iPad and the next-gen iPhone, but users of Windows Phone 7 will have to take a number and wait… and wait… and wait.
Skype’s Asia Pacific Vice-President Dan Neary says that Microsoft’s forthcoming smartphone OS is not a priority when it comes to mobile platforms.
“We try and focus not only where the need is but where the best experience is, and we feel that the best areas for us to develop are on the operating systems that we currently support – iPhone, Symbian, BlackBerry and now Android” Neary told APC during a press briefing in Sydney today. “We simply feel that those operating systems (have) a much better user experience”.

- TomTom is bundled with that ROM
- No SMS problem (They are referring to the SMS issues on WM 6.5 on most Leo ROMs)
- Zune part of the phone is not working on this ROM (error reports, etc.)

Windows Mobile 7 a.k.a. Windows Phone 7 Series

It looks like Microsoft’s attempt to cover up the naming scheme for Windows Mobile 7 prior to the unveiling at Mobile World Congress has been futile. The banner was caught, with some translucent covering, that reveals the name Windows Phone 7 Series.

Windows Mobile 7 device emulator screenshots

These screenshots were taken with what appears to be a Windows Mobile 7 emulator from a long time ago, possibly even before the days of Windows Mobile 6 (that brings us back to around around 2006). It’s no secret that Microsoft has been working on Windows Mobile 7 for a long time and that they’ve gone back to the drawing board at least once to start from scratch. These screenshots offer a glimpse of what Windows Mobile 7 could have been if it were released many years ago. It’s possible that this version of the operating system was the precursor to the other possible Windows Mobile 7 screenshots we presented you with many months ago.
