Windows Phone Based Nokia Lumia 601 Rumored
Several months ago Nokia’s first Windows Phone-based smartphones – the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800 were introduced at Nokia World in London. Later the new Nokia Lumia 900 was shown in an official video, and we thought it was the last phone from the line, but now a picture of a new Nokia device has leaked via PocketNow, and it looks like the rumored Lumia 601…
Unfortunately, not much is known about this Nokia Lumia 601 for now other than the fact it has an 8MP camera with flash (you can say this after looking at the pic) and runs Windows Phone Mango (just like all the other phones from the line). As for the other specs, there are rumors that it will most likely have a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with 512MP of RAM. And, judging by the photo, the screen seems to be a 3.7-inch WVGA. Plus we can guess that the phone will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and all the other connectivity features all modern smartphones in general and WP-based phones in particular have.
Of course, this Nokia Lumia 601 doesn’t seem to be a really powerful smartphone, and though its rumored features are way better than those of the older Nokia phones, they’re much more “modest” compared to phones like the HTC Sensation XE and XL, the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the others. But I can’t say it’s bad, no. After all, there are many people looking for good but cheap phones not equipped with the latest technology inventions, so the Nokia Lumia 601 will most likely be very popular among these people. The Nokia 800 (which is way more powerful than the 601) is offered by mobile operators for free with a two-year contract and about ?24 monthly, so we can guess that the Nokia Lumia 601 deals will be even more affordable.
So, summing up all the info above, I can say that if the Nokia Lumia 601 is real (don’t forget that there is a chance that it can turn out to be a fake), it’ll be a nice phone with not that interesting design, but equipped with rather good features. And if it’s cheap, too, it’ll surely find its buyers. So let’s wait and see if it gets official soon.
